A Form-Finding Method for Branching Structures Based on Dynamic Relaxation

Branching structure is often used as a supporting of the grid shell due to its geometrical and force-transferring features, rationality shape very important. The “physical” “numerical” hanging models can be for joint form-finding branching free-form shell. However, slack elements may exist in equilibrium model which corresponds inefficient members form-found structure. To solve this problem, method based on dynamic relaxation proposed study. clusters equalizes axial forces same cluster, other words, there are no model. This overcomes defect that have needs many manual adjustments during procedure determining rational structure, effectively prevents existing Numerical examples provided demonstrate characteristics effectiveness verified well.
